HOLLYWEIRD Collage, Oil Stick, Pastel & Acrylic on Canvas | 36" × 24" | 2024

Sex sells. Hollywood knew it first.

Hollyweird is a wall of the twentieth century's greatest myths — iconic movie posters, film stills and the faces that built the dream factory, collaged across the canvas in a dense, overlapping archive of glamour, violence, desire and spectacle. Jaws. Marilyn. Humphrey Bogart. The shark. The blonde. The man with the gun. All of it layered and pressed together the way the Hollywood machine actually worked — everything simultaneously, nothing quite what it appeared, the whole gorgeous apparatus running on image and illusion and the absolute certainty that someone somewhere would always be watching.

Over and through and across it all — oil stick, pastel and spray paint in neon yellow, green, red and blue. HOLLYWOOD spelled out in dripping crimson across the lower canvas. SEX SELLS announced without apology in the middle. The marks are graffiti and commentary and pure painterly energy simultaneously — the contemporary hand writing itself over the archive, claiming it, questioning it, celebrating it and finding it deeply, darkly funny all at once.

This is a painting about the stories we told ourselves for a century through a projector in the dark. About the icons we made and the myths we fed them to. About Hollywood — which was always, if you looked properly, a little weird.

FAQ

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We offer free shipping on most works, with shipping costs (when applicable) never exceeding 10% of the piece's price. Large canvases ship rolled in a professional tube; oversized works requiring special packaging may be an exception, and we're happy to provide a quote. International collectors are responsible for any duties and taxes upon arrival.

Can I receive my painting already stretched and framed?

Large works ship rolled by default for safety in transit. If you'd prefer your piece delivered already on stretcher bars, contact us before purchasing for a separate shipping quote at your own expense. If you're interested in framing, reach out to claire@clairepriceartist.com to discuss your vision — we're happy to provide quotes and mockups to help you visualize the finished piece.

What if I'm not happy with my purchase?

Returns are accepted within 30 days of receiving the work. Choosing an artwork is a deeply personal experience, and we'll do our best to help place the right piece in your home — if something isn't right, contact us immediately and we'll try to facilitate an exchange or, if necessary, a refund. For returns, the client is responsible for the cost of shipping and insuring the piece back to us; once it arrives safely, a full refund is issued minus shipping and related expenses.

Is each piece truly one of a kind?

Yes — every original is a unique, one-of-one work, signed by the artist on the front and/or back, and shipped with a certificate of authenticity establishing provenance. The artist retains all copyright to the image, and reserves the right to reproduce it as prints or use it in future projects, at her discretion.

Do you take custom commissions?

Occasionally, by inquiry. Commission pricing is calculated at $4.50 per square inch, with a 50% non-refundable deposit required to begin. Contact us to discuss your piece and confirm availability.
