Every once in a while the universe decides on a colour.

In Nudi Blue Crystal that colour is blue. Every shade, every temperature, every expression of blue that the natural world has ever produced — assembled in a single 12×12 inch panel that feels less like a collage and more like a discovery. Aquamarine crystals shoot upward like frozen water. A powder blue mushroom glows with the quiet luminosity of something bioluminescent. Tanzanite spires catch the light with the cool fire of a deep ocean at midnight. Sea fans spread their intricate architecture in teal and cobalt. Raw aqua crystal sits at the lower edge like a piece of the ocean floor made solid and permanent.

And in the centre of all that blue — one perfect, glorious, absolutely deliberate explosion of yellow.

The nudibranch. Sunshine yellow, covered in precise white-tipped tentacles arranged with a regularity that suggests intention, that suggests someone or something thought very carefully about exactly this combination of yellow against blue and decided — yes. This. Exactly this. The yellow that makes every blue around it more blue. The blue that makes the yellow more yellow. Nature's own colour theory, operating at a level of sophistication that no art school has ever quite managed to teach.

This is what nudibranchs do. They understand colour the way painters spend lifetimes trying to understand it — intuitively, completely, without effort or doubt. They simply are the right colour, in the right place, at the right intensity. Always.

Nudi Blue Crystal brings the nudibranch into conversation with crystals and fungi that share its chromatic obsession — blue beings from three different kingdoms of the natural world, assembled here as though they always belonged together, as though the universe has always been making this particular composition and simply needed someone to notice.

Created in a unique process combining photographic collage, hand-applied acrylic paint and a final layer of high-gloss resin, the surface has the depth and luminosity of something subaquatic — every element suspended beneath the glass-like finish as though glimpsed through perfectly clear water, preserved at the exact moment of their maximum beauty.

Part of the Nudibranch series — a body of work born from childlike wonder at a natural world so extravagant, so reckless in its beauty, that to look at it carefully is to feel something fundamental shift in your understanding of what is possible.

FAQ

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We offer free shipping on most works, with shipping costs (when applicable) never exceeding 10% of the piece's price. Large canvases ship rolled in a professional tube; oversized works requiring special packaging may be an exception, and we're happy to provide a quote. International collectors are responsible for any duties and taxes upon arrival.

Can I receive my painting already stretched and framed?

Large works ship rolled by default for safety in transit. If you'd prefer your piece delivered already on stretcher bars, contact us before purchasing for a separate shipping quote at your own expense. If you're interested in framing, reach out to claire@clairepriceartist.com to discuss your vision — we're happy to provide quotes and mockups to help you visualize the finished piece.

What if I'm not happy with my purchase?

Returns are accepted within 30 days of receiving the work. Choosing an artwork is a deeply personal experience, and we'll do our best to help place the right piece in your home — if something isn't right, contact us immediately and we'll try to facilitate an exchange or, if necessary, a refund. For returns, the client is responsible for the cost of shipping and insuring the piece back to us; once it arrives safely, a full refund is issued minus shipping and related expenses.

Is each piece truly one of a kind?

Yes — every original is a unique, one-of-one work, signed by the artist on the front and/or back, and shipped with a certificate of authenticity establishing provenance. The artist retains all copyright to the image, and reserves the right to reproduce it as prints or use it in future projects, at her discretion.

Do you take custom commissions?

Occasionally, by inquiry. Commission pricing is calculated at $4.50 per square inch, with a 50% non-refundable deposit required to begin. Contact us to discuss your piece and confirm availability.
