GODDESS RISING Acrylic on Canvas | 48" × 72" | 2022

She is holding up the world. She has always been holding up the world.

Goddess Rising is a monumental work — in scale, in ambition, in the weight of what it is trying to say and the confidence with which it says it. A winged female figure rises from a ground of deep red, arms raised above her head supporting a sphere of deep blue water — the earth, the moon, a world that needs holding — while around her the cosmos explodes outward in rays of rainbow light, planets orbiting in the dark, Jupiter and Saturn and smaller worlds suspended in the black of space that is simultaneously vast and completely intimate.

The figure is painted with the warm, luminous quality that the best figurative painting achieves when it stops being careful — the body rendered in deep ochre and orange, outlined in neon pink that vibrates against the dark, the wings spreading in white that catches every colour around it and gives it back transformed. She is not ascending. She is already there. The rising is complete. What we are seeing is the aftermath of an arrival.

The rays of light that burst from behind her are painted in every colour simultaneously — the full spectrum, the complete signal, the visual equivalent of every frequency at once. Against the black of deep space they are almost unbearably joyful. The planets orbit. The water holds. The goddess stands.

This is a painting about female power at its most cosmic and its most grounded simultaneously — the figure rooted on her red earth, connected to the sky above, holding the world between her raised hands with the ease of someone for whom this has always been the natural order of things.

At 48×72 Goddess Rising is one of the most monumental works in the collection. A painting that changes every room it enters and every person who stands in front of it long enough.

FAQ

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We offer free shipping on most works, with shipping costs (when applicable) never exceeding 10% of the piece's price. Large canvases ship rolled in a professional tube; oversized works requiring special packaging may be an exception, and we're happy to provide a quote. International collectors are responsible for any duties and taxes upon arrival.

Can I receive my painting already stretched and framed?

Large works ship rolled by default for safety in transit. If you'd prefer your piece delivered already on stretcher bars, contact us before purchasing for a separate shipping quote at your own expense. If you're interested in framing, reach out to claire@clairepriceartist.com to discuss your vision — we're happy to provide quotes and mockups to help you visualize the finished piece.

What if I'm not happy with my purchase?

Returns are accepted within 30 days of receiving the work. Choosing an artwork is a deeply personal experience, and we'll do our best to help place the right piece in your home — if something isn't right, contact us immediately and we'll try to facilitate an exchange or, if necessary, a refund. For returns, the client is responsible for the cost of shipping and insuring the piece back to us; once it arrives safely, a full refund is issued minus shipping and related expenses.

Is each piece truly one of a kind?

Yes — every original is a unique, one-of-one work, signed by the artist on the front and/or back, and shipped with a certificate of authenticity establishing provenance. The artist retains all copyright to the image, and reserves the right to reproduce it as prints or use it in future projects, at her discretion.

Do you take custom commissions?

Occasionally, by inquiry. Commission pricing is calculated at $4.50 per square inch, with a 50% non-refundable deposit required to begin. Contact us to discuss your piece and confirm availability.
