RED MACAW Acrylic, Spray Paint & Chalk on Canvas | 44" × 30" | 2021

Out of the dark, everything.

Against a ground of deep, velvety black, a Red Macaw perches with the absolute stillness of something that knows it is extraordinary and has long since stopped being surprised by the fact. His plumage is painted with meticulous, loving attention — crimson head, emerald and teal wings, cobalt tail feathers catching a light that has no obvious source. He simply glows.

Around him the darkness is alive. Spray-painted letters drift across the surface in neon green and hot pink — fragments of something, half tag, half poetry, half the visual language of a city wall that got unexpectedly beautiful. Chalk marks scatter like afterthoughts or constellations. Green paint splashes punctuate the black like bioluminescence, like something growing in the dark.

The contrast is everything. The careful, classical rendering of the bird against the raw, urban energy of the background — one from the jungle, one from the street, both completely at home in the same painting. Red Macaw is the conversation between those two worlds, and it is a very good conversation.

Bold enough for a statement wall. Rare enough for a serious collection. Painted in 2021 with a confidence that only gets stronger with time.

FAQ

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We offer free shipping on most works, with shipping costs (when applicable) never exceeding 10% of the piece's price. Large canvases ship rolled in a professional tube; oversized works requiring special packaging may be an exception, and we're happy to provide a quote. International collectors are responsible for any duties and taxes upon arrival.

Can I receive my painting already stretched and framed?

Large works ship rolled by default for safety in transit. If you'd prefer your piece delivered already on stretcher bars, contact us before purchasing for a separate shipping quote at your own expense. If you're interested in framing, reach out to claire@clairepriceartist.com to discuss your vision — we're happy to provide quotes and mockups to help you visualize the finished piece.

What if I'm not happy with my purchase?

Returns are accepted within 30 days of receiving the work. Choosing an artwork is a deeply personal experience, and we'll do our best to help place the right piece in your home — if something isn't right, contact us immediately and we'll try to facilitate an exchange or, if necessary, a refund. For returns, the client is responsible for the cost of shipping and insuring the piece back to us; once it arrives safely, a full refund is issued minus shipping and related expenses.

Is each piece truly one of a kind?

Yes — every original is a unique, one-of-one work, signed by the artist on the front and/or back, and shipped with a certificate of authenticity establishing provenance. The artist retains all copyright to the image, and reserves the right to reproduce it as prints or use it in future projects, at her discretion.

Do you take custom commissions?

Occasionally, by inquiry. Commission pricing is calculated at $4.50 per square inch, with a 50% non-refundable deposit required to begin. Contact us to discuss your piece and confirm availability.
