Somewhere on a Paris street, these books were left behind.

Someone carried them once. Read them by lamplight, on trains, in apartments that no longer exist. Their covers wore the fingerprints of a dozen different lives before finding their way to the ground, to a market stall, to the hands of an artist who understood that their story wasn't finished yet.

Stories from an Age is constructed on a luminous bronze-painted canvas — warm, glowing, the colour of old gold and afternoon light. Across it, collaged vintage book covers are arranged with quiet precision, their worn spines and faded boards forming a grid that is part archive, part meditation. Two small painted animals emerge from the composition — a cat mid-prowl, a bear rising on its haunches — painted with the careful attention of a natural history illustrator, as if rescued from the pages of the books themselves. A single cobalt blue circle anchors the lower right. A fragment of printed text peeks through.

Nothing here is accidental. Everything has been somewhere before.
