Summer Breeze captures a midsummer border in the moment the breeze moves through it — grasses bending, allium heads nodding on their stems, the whole composition alive with a diagonal energy that makes the painting feel genuinely kinetic. Red heleniums burn in the upper left. Pink and yellow blooms cluster in the lower foreground. Purple alliums drift through the middle distance like small planets on the move. The acid yellow of fennel or cow parsley catches the light at the top of the composition and holds it.

The greens are extraordinary — every shade from near-black shadow at the base to the most electric lime where the grasses catch the afternoon light, the whole range present simultaneously in a border that is doing exactly what a well-planted summer border should do which is absolutely everything at once.
