MARIGOLDS Acrylic, Spray Paint & Pastel on Canvas | 38" × 38"

There is a reason every culture that has ever grown them considers marigolds sacred.

They are the flower of the dead and the flower of celebration simultaneously — strewn across altars, woven into garlands, pressed into the hands of the departed and the newly arrived with equal devotion. They are the orange of fire and the yellow of the sun and the particular burnt gold of an afternoon in October when the light decides to make everything it touches look briefly eternal.

Marigolds captures all of that.

A field of blooms fills the entire canvas — no sky, no horizon, no context beyond the flowers themselves pressing outward to every edge in a composition of absolute abundance. The orange and gold of the marigold heads is rendered with extraordinary richness — acrylic building the deep, layered ground of green foliage, spray paint adding atmospheric depth and edge, pastel dragged across the surface leaving traces of light and warmth that shift as the painting moves through the day. Three media working together to achieve something that none of them could manage alone.

This is not a painting of marigolds. It is a painting of what marigolds mean — which is everything, simultaneously, to everyone who has ever stood in front of a field of them and felt something they couldn't quite name.

At 38×38 Marigolds is a significant, immersive work. The kind that changes the quality of light in a room. The kind that makes people stop before they know why they've stopped.

FAQ

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We offer free shipping on most works, with shipping costs (when applicable) never exceeding 10% of the piece's price. Large canvases ship rolled in a professional tube; oversized works requiring special packaging may be an exception, and we're happy to provide a quote. International collectors are responsible for any duties and taxes upon arrival.

Can I receive my painting already stretched and framed?

Large works ship rolled by default for safety in transit. If you'd prefer your piece delivered already on stretcher bars, contact us before purchasing for a separate shipping quote at your own expense. If you're interested in framing, reach out to claire@clairepriceartist.com to discuss your vision — we're happy to provide quotes and mockups to help you visualize the finished piece.

What if I'm not happy with my purchase?

Returns are accepted within 30 days of receiving the work. Choosing an artwork is a deeply personal experience, and we'll do our best to help place the right piece in your home — if something isn't right, contact us immediately and we'll try to facilitate an exchange or, if necessary, a refund. For returns, the client is responsible for the cost of shipping and insuring the piece back to us; once it arrives safely, a full refund is issued minus shipping and related expenses.

Is each piece truly one of a kind?

Yes — every original is a unique, one-of-one work, signed by the artist on the front and/or back, and shipped with a certificate of authenticity establishing provenance. The artist retains all copyright to the image, and reserves the right to reproduce it as prints or use it in future projects, at her discretion.

Do you take custom commissions?

Occasionally, by inquiry. Commission pricing is calculated at $4.50 per square inch, with a 50% non-refundable deposit required to begin. Contact us to discuss your piece and confirm availability.
