CEREBRAL Acrylic & Collage on Wood Panel | 18" × 24"

This is what thinking looks like from the inside.

A collaged anatomical brain floats at the top of the composition — clinical, precise, the kind of illustration that belongs in a medical textbook — suspended above a ground of absolute painterly chaos. Acid yellow, deep teal, forest green and burnt orange move beneath and around it in gestural sweeps and vertical marks, red lines threading through everything like neural pathways or root systems or the routes taken by thoughts that don't know yet where they're going.

The brain observes. The painting beneath it fires.

There is something both beautiful and slightly vertiginous about Cerebral — the contrast between the calm, diagrammatic quality of the collaged element and the explosive acrylic ground it presides over. As if the brain is watching its own activity from a slight distance and finding it simultaneously fascinating and overwhelming. Which is, of course, exactly what brains do.

Painted on wood panel — the solid ground giving the dark colours a depth and intensity that canvas cannot replicate. The yellow is almost luminous. The red lines pulse.

Cerebral. The most interesting organ, doing the most interesting things, painted by someone paying very close attention.

FAQ

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We offer free shipping on most works, with shipping costs (when applicable) never exceeding 10% of the piece's price. Large canvases ship rolled in a professional tube; oversized works requiring special packaging may be an exception, and we're happy to provide a quote. International collectors are responsible for any duties and taxes upon arrival.

Can I receive my painting already stretched and framed?

Large works ship rolled by default for safety in transit. If you'd prefer your piece delivered already on stretcher bars, contact us before purchasing for a separate shipping quote at your own expense. If you're interested in framing, reach out to claire@clairepriceartist.com to discuss your vision — we're happy to provide quotes and mockups to help you visualize the finished piece.

What if I'm not happy with my purchase?

Returns are accepted within 30 days of receiving the work. Choosing an artwork is a deeply personal experience, and we'll do our best to help place the right piece in your home — if something isn't right, contact us immediately and we'll try to facilitate an exchange or, if necessary, a refund. For returns, the client is responsible for the cost of shipping and insuring the piece back to us; once it arrives safely, a full refund is issued minus shipping and related expenses.

Is each piece truly one of a kind?

Yes — every original is a unique, one-of-one work, signed by the artist on the front and/or back, and shipped with a certificate of authenticity establishing provenance. The artist retains all copyright to the image, and reserves the right to reproduce it as prints or use it in future projects, at her discretion.

Do you take custom commissions?

Occasionally, by inquiry. Commission pricing is calculated at $4.50 per square inch, with a 50% non-refundable deposit required to begin. Contact us to discuss your piece and confirm availability.
