BAMBA Acrylic on Canvas | 57" × 77" | 2024

He stands at the centre of everything and needs nothing from it.

Bamba is a monumental work — in scale, in presence, in ambition. A solitary figure, staff in hand, occupies the canvas with the stillness of someone who has always known exactly where they stand. Around him the world erupts in colour — raw orange and vermillion, electric green palm fronds, cobalt blue tearing across the lower canvas like a river or a memory, fragments of text bleeding through the ground like voices from another frequency. Pink. Yellow. The relentless heat of it all.

And yet he is still.

Painted with the expressive, full-body mark making that only a canvas of this scale demands, Bamba sits in the tradition of great figurative painting while owing nothing to it. This is not a painting that references the past — it inhabits it, pulls it forward, plants it firmly in the present tense. The figure is rendered in deep olive and black, outlined, almost silhouetted against the riot behind him — separate from the chaos and completely part of it.

This is a painting that changes a room. Not decorates it. Changes it.

At 57" × 77", Bamba commands serious wall space and serious attention. A work for collectors, institutions, hospitality spaces and anyone who understands that truly significant art is not an investment — it is a presence.

FAQ

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We offer free shipping on most works, with shipping costs (when applicable) never exceeding 10% of the piece's price. Large canvases ship rolled in a professional tube; oversized works requiring special packaging may be an exception, and we're happy to provide a quote. International collectors are responsible for any duties and taxes upon arrival.

Can I receive my painting already stretched and framed?

Large works ship rolled by default for safety in transit. If you'd prefer your piece delivered already on stretcher bars, contact us before purchasing for a separate shipping quote at your own expense. If you're interested in framing, reach out to claire@clairepriceartist.com to discuss your vision — we're happy to provide quotes and mockups to help you visualize the finished piece.

What if I'm not happy with my purchase?

Returns are accepted within 30 days of receiving the work. Choosing an artwork is a deeply personal experience, and we'll do our best to help place the right piece in your home — if something isn't right, contact us immediately and we'll try to facilitate an exchange or, if necessary, a refund. For returns, the client is responsible for the cost of shipping and insuring the piece back to us; once it arrives safely, a full refund is issued minus shipping and related expenses.

Is each piece truly one of a kind?

Yes — every original is a unique, one-of-one work, signed by the artist on the front and/or back, and shipped with a certificate of authenticity establishing provenance. The artist retains all copyright to the image, and reserves the right to reproduce it as prints or use it in future projects, at her discretion.

Do you take custom commissions?

Occasionally, by inquiry. Commission pricing is calculated at $4.50 per square inch, with a 50% non-refundable deposit required to begin. Contact us to discuss your piece and confirm availability.
