RIBBON THEORY Acrylic on Canvas | 20" × 30" Abstract Series

Follow one. See where it goes.

Ribbon Theory is a painting that rewards the eye that wanders — loops and curves of pink, coral, gold, magenta and cream moving across a deep black ground in a continuous, interlocking flow that has no beginning and no end and no interest in either. Each ribbon finds its own path and loses it again immediately, folding back, crossing over, disappearing beneath another and emerging somewhere unexpected on the other side.

The palette is warm and completely committed — hot pink, burnt orange, dusty rose, ochre gold, the occasional flash of deep magenta that pulls the whole composition tighter for a moment before releasing it back into beautiful chaos. Against the black ground every colour is intensified, every curve more luminous, every loop more inevitable.

There is something deeply satisfying about this painting in a way that resists easy explanation. The rhythm of it. The sense that everything is connected to everything else even when you can't quite see how. The feeling that if you followed any single ribbon long enough it would eventually lead you somewhere worth going.

Ribbon Theory. The universe, probably, if you zoomed in far enough.

FAQ

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We offer free shipping on most works, with shipping costs (when applicable) never exceeding 10% of the piece's price. Large canvases ship rolled in a professional tube; oversized works requiring special packaging may be an exception, and we're happy to provide a quote. International collectors are responsible for any duties and taxes upon arrival.

Can I receive my painting already stretched and framed?

Large works ship rolled by default for safety in transit. If you'd prefer your piece delivered already on stretcher bars, contact us before purchasing for a separate shipping quote at your own expense. If you're interested in framing, reach out to claire@clairepriceartist.com to discuss your vision — we're happy to provide quotes and mockups to help you visualize the finished piece.

What if I'm not happy with my purchase?

Returns are accepted within 30 days of receiving the work. Choosing an artwork is a deeply personal experience, and we'll do our best to help place the right piece in your home — if something isn't right, contact us immediately and we'll try to facilitate an exchange or, if necessary, a refund. For returns, the client is responsible for the cost of shipping and insuring the piece back to us; once it arrives safely, a full refund is issued minus shipping and related expenses.

Is each piece truly one of a kind?

Yes — every original is a unique, one-of-one work, signed by the artist on the front and/or back, and shipped with a certificate of authenticity establishing provenance. The artist retains all copyright to the image, and reserves the right to reproduce it as prints or use it in future projects, at her discretion.

Do you take custom commissions?

Occasionally, by inquiry. Commission pricing is calculated at $4.50 per square inch, with a 50% non-refundable deposit required to begin. Contact us to discuss your piece and confirm availability.
