PIE À LA MODE Acrylic on Canvas | 36" × 36" | 2026 Delicacies Series

A single perfect slice. That's all anyone ever needed.

Pie à la Mode arrives on its white plate with the quiet confidence of something that has been perfected over generations and knows it. A generous slice of cherry pie — lattice crust golden and slightly imperfect in the way that only homemade things are, the filling deep crimson and glossy where it meets the pastry — sits centre canvas on the most satisfying red and white gingham imaginable. A cloud of cream perches on top. Not whipped cream from a can. The real kind. The kind that means someone was paying attention.

The gingham tablecloth — the same one that appeared in Slice of Gateau, the same one that means summer and family and somewhere someone is genuinely happy — hums its red and white rhythm across the entire canvas, giving the composition a warmth and nostalgia that the painting wears completely without apology. This is the America of diners and county fairs and recipes written in pencil on index cards that have been handed down so many times the pencil is barely legible.

The painting is a view from above — the pie presented rather than discovered, the cream precisely placed, the whole thing composed with the care of someone who understands that food, like painting, is an act of love made visible.

Pie à la Mode. The Delicacies Series, completely in its element.

FAQ

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We offer free shipping on most works, with shipping costs (when applicable) never exceeding 10% of the piece's price. Large canvases ship rolled in a professional tube; oversized works requiring special packaging may be an exception, and we're happy to provide a quote. International collectors are responsible for any duties and taxes upon arrival.

Can I receive my painting already stretched and framed?

Large works ship rolled by default for safety in transit. If you'd prefer your piece delivered already on stretcher bars, contact us before purchasing for a separate shipping quote at your own expense. If you're interested in framing, reach out to claire@clairepriceartist.com to discuss your vision — we're happy to provide quotes and mockups to help you visualize the finished piece.

What if I'm not happy with my purchase?

Returns are accepted within 30 days of receiving the work. Choosing an artwork is a deeply personal experience, and we'll do our best to help place the right piece in your home — if something isn't right, contact us immediately and we'll try to facilitate an exchange or, if necessary, a refund. For returns, the client is responsible for the cost of shipping and insuring the piece back to us; once it arrives safely, a full refund is issued minus shipping and related expenses.

Is each piece truly one of a kind?

Yes — every original is a unique, one-of-one work, signed by the artist on the front and/or back, and shipped with a certificate of authenticity establishing provenance. The artist retains all copyright to the image, and reserves the right to reproduce it as prints or use it in future projects, at her discretion.

Do you take custom commissions?

Occasionally, by inquiry. Commission pricing is calculated at $4.50 per square inch, with a 50% non-refundable deposit required to begin. Contact us to discuss your piece and confirm availability.
